We use that information to respond to you, follow up on your interest in Arbiter, and improve and promote our services. We do not sell personal information. 1. Who we are
Arbiter Inc. (Arbiter, we, us) operates arbiter-completions.com and the Arbiter Project Completions platform. We are based at 4621 Main Street, Belledune, New Brunswick, Canada.
This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information through this website and in our sales and marketing communications. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
2. Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you request a demo, fill in a contact form or book a meeting with our team, we collect the details you enter, such as your name, work email, phone number, company, job title and any message you include. When you email or call us, we keep a record of that conversation.
- Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our analytics and marketing tools record technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you, and an approximate location based on your IP address.
- Information from other sources. We may record business contact details you share with us at trade shows and conferences, or through professional networks such as LinkedIn.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:- respond to your enquiry and schedule demos and meetings;
- follow up about Arbiter products and services you have shown interest in;
- send occasional updates if you have agreed to receive them (every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, as Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation requires);
- measure how our advertising performs and show our ads to people who have visited our site;
- understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it;
- keep the site secure and prevent misuse; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. This site uses cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: essential site functions, analytics and advertising.
Essential. WordPress sets cookies only for site administrators who log in.- Analytics: Google Analytics (Google LLC) measures site traffic and how pages are used (_ga, _ga_*). You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Analytics: HubSpot (HubSpot, Inc.) is our customer relationship management system. Its tracking code records your visits and, if you submit a form or book a meeting, links them to your contact record so we understand your interest (hubspotutk, __hstc, __hssc, __hssrc). HubSpot also powers our demo request form and meeting scheduler.
- Advertising: Google Ads (Google LLC) records when you arrive from one of our ads and whether you then contact us, and lets us show our ads to people who have visited this site when they browse Google and partner websites (_gcl_au and Google's own advertising cookies).
- Advertising: LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn Corporation) measures how our LinkedIn ads perform, lets us show ads on LinkedIn to people who have visited this site, and gives us aggregated, anonymous reports about the professional characteristics of our visitors (li_sugr, bcookie, lidc, UserMatchHistory, AnalyticsSyncHistory, li_fat_id). LinkedIn does not give us the identity of individual visitors.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with organizations that help us run our business, and only as far as they need it to do that work:- HubSpot, for our customer records, forms, email and meeting scheduling;
- Google, for website analytics and advertising;
- LinkedIn, for advertising;
- Microsoft, for business email and document storage;
- our website hosting provider; and
- Contendo Inc., our affiliated company, whose team supports Arbiter sales, onboarding and customer support.
We may also disclose personal information where the law requires it, or as part of a sale, merger or reorganization of our business, in which case the information would remain protected by the commitments in this policy.
6. Where your information is stored
Some of our service providers store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is outside Canada, your information is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as long as the law requires. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.
8. How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections to this website and access limited to the people who need it for their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, as the law requires.
9. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:- tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- stop sending you marketing emails (you can also use the unsubscribe link in any email);
- stop using your information for matched advertising audiences; and
- delete your information, unless we need to keep it for a legal or contractual reason.
10. Information in the Arbiter platform
Our customers use the Arbiter platform to manage project records, which can include information about their personnel and contractors. We process that information on our customer's behalf, under the terms of our agreement with them.
